THE LAVENDER FIELDS AND FESTIVAL. Sequim is the Lavender Capital of North America. Every July, the community celebrates with a festival that includes farm tours, a lively street fair and other special events.

OLYMPIC DISCOVERY TRAIL. The 25-mile trail for bike riding, running and walking meanders through woods, valleys and pastureland, with ever-changing vistas of the Olympic Mountains.

FRESH PRODUCE AND SEAFOOD. The area is famous for its berry crops, with u-pick farms open all summer long. Succulent fresh Dungeness Crab is a local delicacy.

GOLF COURSES. The Sequim area boasts the longest, driest playing season in Washington State. Choose from three nearby courses, two public and one private.

DUNGENESS SPIT. This sand spit jutting into the Strait of Juan de Fuca offers 5.5 miles of classic northwest beach waves, driftwood and seabirds at no extra charge. Walk partway or bring a picnic lunch and make a full day of it, capped off with a tour of the lighthouse.
